Maintenance Contract Quoting Added to PENTA

Maintenance contract and repair service quoting application added to PENTA Service Management

Milwaukee, WI – February 3, 2012 - Penta Technologies, a leading developer of enterprise software for the construction industry, announces the release of Maintenance Contract Quoting, an addition to PENTA Service Management that helps mechanical, electrical and other specialty service contractors quickly and efficiently generate customer quotes. The application reduces paperwork, enforces consistency and standards, eliminates duplicate data entry, expedites approval processes, and provides real-time quote generation.

Maintenance Contract Quoting provides for both preventive maintenance and repair service quotes. The software automatically generates electronic quote documents which may be routed internally and externally for review and approval. Awarded maintenance contracts and repair service orders generate PENTA contract and work order records which feed scheduling and are subsequently assigned to technicians via PENTA Mobile Field Service.

PENTA Mobile Field Service software keeps a contractor’s service management staff and field service technicians, and the mission-critical information they exchange, seamlessly connected throughout the work day. Dispatchers have real-time visibility of all field service technicians, and send prioritized assignments for work orders, jobs or other activities, which are automatically received on the field service technician’s mobile device.

“Contractors are looking for new ways to accurately and concisely generate service quotes,” said Karl Koenig, President of Penta Technologies. “Maintenance Contract Quoting allows contractors to accurately assess, design and customize preventive maintenance and repair service quotes that meet customer expectations”.

Contractors may easily generate customer quotes by specifying the types and quantities of customer equipment along with the desired service levels.  Using this information, PENTA looks up the appropriate “tasking” information from the estimating catalog to determine the required parts and labor hours for the scheduled services. The selling price is based on time and materials (T&M)  rate schedules or desired profit percentage assigned to the quote. Contractors may also include additional estimated costs such as travel, inspection fees and site survey. For convenience PENTA allows contractors to quickly and easily prepare multiple proposals to provide the customer with various options such as frequency of service or comprehensive coverage versus preventive maintenance only.

As an added feature, the service manager has visibility of manpower requirements by resource type for a given time period. This allows the service manager to make sure they are adequately staffed to provide the scheduled services. These estimations assist the service manager in determining if there is an adequate, but not overstocked, inventory of parts and materials to support the scheduled maintenance. Through these estimations, the service manager can take advantage of quantity price breaks by knowing how many of something is needed over time, so they can purchase larger quantities confidently without worrying about overbuying.
