Ajax awarded for use of Document Control Software
Paperless execution earns recognition for Ajax Building Corporation and PENTA ECM
Recognized as a solution that best solved problems, exhibited innovation and produced quantifiable results, Ajax Building Corporation was recently awarded a Bronze Constructech Vision Award in the Commercial General Contractor category for their paperless execution of the Hough Hall construction project using document control software from PENTA.

Ajax was awarded a contract to construct Hough Hall for the University of Florida, a $17.6 million, state-of-the-art learning facility for over 2,000 graduate business school students. The University of Florida presented a mandate that the contractors perform the construction management in a totally paperless manner. This represented an entirely new challenge for Ajax Building Corporation management, field operations and subcontractors.
With strong support of upper management and enthusiastic participation of Project Managers and Field Superintendents, Ajax Building Corporation utilized the PENTA PM Workbench project management software package for the first time on the University of Florida Hough Hall construction job. Used to record all project documents and communications electronically and to document electronic daily reports, PENTA allowed remote managers to be more productive through the ability to constantly review the project's status without having to be onsite.
In addition to successful compliance with a new mandate from the University of Florida to manage the construction of Hough Hall, implementation of the PENTA PM Workbench has improved project operations for Ajax in many more important ways as well, including process standardization, new hire training, project oversight and project information integration.
