We've been at this for a while

The 60's and 70's

In the 1960’s, a busy specialty contractor began to see the need for a technological solution to the financial management needs of the construction professional. In 1968, SYSTEM 5, a subscription-based cost accounting package was born.

The 80's

In the mid-1980s, the team began work on a new system--on a new paradigm--based on widely accepted open systems technology standards, including the ORACLE relational database management system. The first installation of PENTA took place in late 1989.

The 90's

In April 1991, management assembled a group of investors and formed Penta Technologies, Inc. The new company purchased all rights to the PENTA software and hired all key PENTA development and support personnel with the objective of focusing on the further development, sales, and support of PENTA.

The 21st Century

As the company’s expertise has become more specialized, its focus has shifted toward meeting the needs of large firms with sophisticated requirements like multi-company organizational structures, field service, repair and preventive maintenance operations, diverse project management requirements, multiple locations and managing risk associated with self-performing a significant portion of the labor on projects.

Over the years, we have achieved success guided by several key operating principles:

• Focus: Penta is focused on medium to large field service, engineering and construction industry firms.
• Integration: Effective integration of our customers’ construction accounting and operational project management requirements.
• Service: Broad-based service organization providing single-source consulting and support services relating to application implementation, deployment (including hardware, O/S, DBMS, LAN and WAN networks, etc.), and use.
• Advanced Software: Use of advanced software engineering methodologies to maximize the value delivered to end-users.
• Open Technology: Application of Oracle's enabling SQL/RDBMS technology to the highly specialized business requirements of the engineering and construction markets.

We’ve been doing this since the early days of the mainframe, way back in 1968. As computing technologies have advanced, so have our systems. But one thing has always stayed the same: our commitment to delivering the best solutions to our clients.
